An F1B Sheepadoodle is a cross between an F1 Sheepadoodle (purebred OES and purebred poodle parents) and a Poodle.
This generation has a higher percentage of Poodle compared the OES and is known for being the most reliable for low shedding and low allergenic coat traits.
Pups are smart, agile, athletic and biddable.
Puppies will adapt to your household environment and way of life.
We do recommend training these smart little cookies to avoid them inadvertently training you!!
No. We only sell our puppies as pets and do not sell with breeding rights. This is clearly stipulated on our website and reaffirmed throughout the process including initial communication, deposit, and pet agreement / contract.
Yes, our breeding dogs undergo comprehensive testing before joining our program.
All our breeding dogs are:
- hip & elbow scored with good results
- DNA tested using Embark (USA) for over 250 hereditary diseases
- temperament tested using Volhard puppy aptitude test
- regularly vet health checked, vaccinated and treated for parasites
Yes. Our puppies come with a 2 year puppy health guarantee.
This guarantee relates specifically to genetic diseases as testable by Embark, along with other significant life altering illnesses that are testable and proven to be genetic (unless advised otherwise in writing).
Our health guarantee is outlined in our Pet Agreement (contract). A copy of the Agreement is provided to the purchaser prior to puppy pick up. Both parties (breeder and purchaser) are required to sign the Agreement on puppy pick up day.
Yes. Prior to taking your puppy home you will be asked to sign a pet agreement / contract which stipulates our return policy and expectations for both parties.
In the very unlikely event that pup finds itself in need of a new home, we require all dogs bred by us to return to us no matter their age or reason. We never want one of our pups to ever be surrendered to a shelter.
Our pet agreement outlines our returns policy in more detail.
Our puppies cost $4,500.
Puppies go home microchipped, received their first vaccination, and completed a vet health check.
Puppies come home with a generous puppy pack (for puppies being collected), information booklet, and free starter pet insurance in place for piece of mind.
Puppies being transported (i.e. road or plane) unfortunately are not able to go home with a puppy pack due to transport restrictions out of our control.
Our puppies are mini / medium sized sheepadoodles. That is, one of their parents is a miniature poodle.
Whilst the ultimate size of our pups can't be 100% guaranteed, we do expect our puppies to grow to a similar size to that of a border collie.
Pups will likely grow to mature to a weight of 14-16kg and height of 40-46cm to the wither.
Sheepadoodles are very intelligent and learn quickly.
We recommended that all puppies, no matter their breed, undertake training and suggest puppies are booked into a puppy school before collection day so they can commence training as soon as possible after they arrive to their new homes.
We suggest to start training immediately with basic commands and small doses of environmental exposure (e.g. take pup out exploring with all paws off ground until fully vaccinated) to ensure pup grows into a well adjusted and confident companion.
Socialisation does not mean meeting every person or dog they come across, just being in the general vicinity of other humans and dogs is sufficient.
Sheepadoodles require regular brushing (weekly) with 6-8 week full grooms needed.
We recommended line brushing pup from head to tiny toe using a slicker brush and followed by a metal comb at least once a week (more if pup is swimming or going to the beach) to avoid knots and matts forming.
Good quality shampoo / conditioner / detangler / leave in conditioner all help to keep pup's coat in perfect condition.
That's great. We welcome any and all questions.
We encourage ongoing communication with all our puppy families and love to receive updates.
We also set up a WhatsApp group for each litter where our puppy families are welcome to share stories, updates, experiences, photos, and ask questions in a safe and private group setting.
All applications for a Bertana Sheepadoodle are managed through our Rightpaw profile found here.
From time to time we open a limited priority waitlist for an upcoming planned litter. As a priority waitlisted applicant you will get first preference for a puppy in the litter.
We will guide you through the process to best match you with a puppy based on your lifestyle, home environment, wants and needs in a puppy, and puppy's temperament.
To be considered for placement on our waitlist, you will need to submit an application through our Rightpaw profile here.
